Private Prescriptions

We dispense private prescriptions from GMC-registered doctors.

If you would like us to dispense your private prescription, please hand it in at the Pharmacy counter.

Private prescriptions are not subject to NHS charges, but you will have to pay for the medication itself. There are no exemptions for private prescriptions and all items will need to be paid for.

To get a price for your medication either visit Prestwich Pharmacy or give us a call to get a free no-obligation quote.

New Medicine Service

N.M.S

If you are prescribed a medicine to treat a long-term condition for the first time, we would like to support you in getting the most from this medicine.

People often have problems when they start a new medicine and as part of the New Medicine Service (NMS), one of our pharmacists will support you over several weeks to use the medicine safely and to the best effect.

The service is only available to people using certain medicines. In some cases where there is a problem and a solution cannot be found between you and the pharmacist, you will be referred back to your doctor.

No need to see your doctor. See a pharmacist!

Get advice and treatment from a medically trained member of staff at Prestwich Pharmacy, without an appointment. You must come to Prestwich Pharmacy in person (or take the child with you if that is the patient), so a full assessment can be carried out.
